Welcome to Pelletier Physical Therapy!

Our Philosophy

At Pelletier Physical Therapy we understand the connections between many parts of the body, and the connections of body to mind and spirit. Our therapy approach is oriented toward addressing the cause of your pain or dysfunction. A structural evaluation begins the process of locating the source of symptoms . We work to empower our clients to understand their bodies and connections so they can fully participate in their own healing with our professional help and guidance.

Benefits of Treatment

Treatments can decrease the stress within the body by decreasing the sympathetic nervous system output which leads to relaxation of body and mind. Pain can be due to new and/or old injuries such as motor vehicle accidents, concussions, sprains, strains and emotional trauma. Our treatments can assist the immune system to prevent disease and promote a feeling of health and well-being.

Our Treatments

Our treatments include a structural evaluation to determine the areas of dysfunction and/or weakness. We then establish a treatment program geared towards treating and improving the function of the muscles, joints, tendons, organs, ligaments, connective tissue and nervous system. The ultimate goal of each session is to achieve or restore optimal levels of pain free motion and function. Treatments combine traditional and complementary techniques inclusive of strengthening and stretching techniques as well as non-invasive very light touch therapies like craniosacral therapy, visceral mobilization, myofascial release, acupressure, or other modalities of healing.

Why We Are Different

A holistic approach to treatment is paramount to continued wellness.   Stresses, anxieties, depression can factor into the ability to recuperate.  We can help reduce the physical result of emotional factors allowing the body to heal .  We are there with you your entire treatment.  You are not another number doing the same exercises repeatedly.  For 45 minutes we are fully engaged with you and your rehabilitation.  We also know that you don’t have to hurt to recuperate from injury.  “No pain no gain” is not a philosophy  we follow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is physical therapy a good choice?

More than half of all Americans are suffering from pain.Physical therapists are experts at treating movement and neuro-musculoskeletal disorders. Pain often accompanies a movement disorder, and physical therapists can help correct the disorder and relieve the pain.

How long is a typical therapy session?

Takes place in a quiet, private setting and lasts for approximately 45 min.  You remain fully clothed as you relax on the table. Using very light touch areas of restriction are located and released. You may feel a warmth or pulsing as restrictions are released.

How many visits will I need?

This varies from patient to patient. You may need one visit or you may need months of care. It depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments and your past medical history.

The Pelletier Difference

At Pelletier Physical  we treat  the mind, body and spirit as one interconnected, integrated package. Dysfunctions of any of these parts can lead to dysfunction in the others. For example physical illness and/or pain can lead to psychological difficulties just as the emotions of depression and anxiety can cause physical pain. We can learn to compensate around these dysfunctions but this requires more energy.  Releasing primary dysfunction as well as compensations around these dysfunctions helps us return to complete health.

Attaining a balance of mind, body and spirit allows us to be our best selves and to move physically and emotionally with more ease.  Within each of us is the potential for health and happiness and we can learn to tap into our “inner wisdom or intuition” which, when heard, guides us to attain this perfect balance.
